GrubHub announced a new partnership with Instacart, expanding its reach in grocery delivery services. This partnership allows GrubHub customers to shop for groceries on its app. For this, customers can go to Grubhub’s app and click on the grocery icon, select a nearby store, add items to their cart, check out, and track their delivery in real time, just as they would with a traditional Grubhub or Instacart order.
This service has started in selected cities of the U.S. and will expand nationwide. Customers will be able to shop for groceries from both local and national retailers. Beyond groceries, this partnership is set to offer pharmacy delivery services in the near future.
Howard Migdal, CEO of Grubhub, said, “This partnership marks an exciting step forward for Grubhub. With nearly 20 million customers and access to over 415,000 restaurants, we’re now expanding our platform to include groceries powered by Instacart, delivering an unmatched level of choice and value.”
This partnership is a strategic move for both companies to increase customer engagement and average order value. While Grubhub strengthens its food delivery business, Instacart gains millions of Grubhub customers, helping it attract new users while strengthening its position in the rapidly expanding online grocery market.
